AIDS in the Time of COVID 19 with Gary Paul Wright and Peter Oates
End of Life – AIDS in the Time of COVID 19
In 2020 700,00 people died of AIDS and 37 million are currently living with AIDS while the Coronavirus pandemic rages on.
Listen to Gary Paul Wright, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the African American Office of Gay Concerns, and his husband, Peter Oates, Director of Health Care Services, School of Nursing at Rutgers University speak of the concerns and progress the pandemic has provided to marginalized minority and LBGTQ communities.
It comes as no surprise a huge gap exists in end of life care exemplified by the private nursing Peter gave to Lord Spencer the father of Diana, Princess of Wales, and a black, transgender youth dying of AIDS in New Jersey.
The quick response and roll out of vaccines for COVID-19 might be the light at the end of the AIDS tunnel.
